Mermaid Kariel's tail was stolen last night. If anyone sees this tail for sell anywhere or see anyone performing in it please report it. IDK where to put this but figured there was a better chance of finding it if more people had their eyes peeled. I think we'll most likely see someone attempting to sell it rather than wear it themselves.

I saw this on IG too. Good on you for posting it here. That must have been so horrible for Kariel to experience. Why do split-tailed land swimmers have to ruin things?

this was shared everywhere. I am honestly surprised it hasn't been found. Hard to steal something like this and have it be never seen again.

I think she mentioned it ended up on the other side of the island, but that's all I've heard on that:/

in a interview she said how much her tails cost I wonder is that why it got stolen I actually don’t think someone is trying to sale it I say they stole it to swim in it or to try and hurt her because they now she loves this. I say she will never get the tail back.

yeah the whole thing is pretty... interesting. From talking to some locals, not a lot of actual Hawaiin locals are big fans of white folks who move in and appropriate the culture. Apparently vandalism and theft can be really common and Kariel has had a lot of issues with it.
Sounds more like someone who takes a personal issue with her, to steal something so personal. I'm not sure I agree with the dollar value amount she's assigned... and I doubt the average person would just break into someone's yard and steal just a mermaid tail ya know? The whole thing is... odd..

It's been shared so much I don't know if the thief would even try to sell it (if that was their intention). More likely it was taken to hurt her or as a trophy. :(

That's what I'm thinking, too. She has had quite a few scary incidences at her home...I get the feeling she's in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood and they know her hubby is a pilot (not at home a lot). Plus, it's not an ingrained habit to lock everything up tight there as it is in other parts of the country.

Does anybody know if it was ever found?
