Hiya!
So here's my take on the intro email. ^_^
My name is Madison, but I go by "Digimer" (digital mermaid) pretty much everywhere on the internet. I've always adored mermaids, and last Christmas, I took an intro class with Aqua Mermaid in Toronto, and totally fell in love. I'm middle aged, and have no plans of going pro, but I do plan to get a hybrid or full silicone tail at some point. The upside of being a bit older is having a little discretionary spending for silly-awesome stuff. :D
About a month ago, I got into mermaiding a lot more seriously, though I'm still very much a guppy. I got a Finfun tail to get started and get back into shape, and have enjoyed it immensely so far. I got to classes each Saturday that work doesn't have me traveling, and I found a local lap pool that lets me do laps twice a week in my tail. So I'm getting lots of practice, and learning also from all the lovely mers who make instruction videos (with particular thanks to Nerdmaid and Mermaid Echo! <3 ).
So ya, hi! Here's a picture of me last week on my mom's boat in Florida, right before my first open-water swim! And ya, I cut my chin... I swam into a step a few days before. I'm not the most elegant mermaid. :P
