How did you feel when they stopped making Scarlets Rio Red tail? Did you like the Rio Red tail?

Which tail are you most sad to see go?

I personally was kind of sad of the retiring of Rio Red, as it's the only Red mermaid tail! Red was my favorite colour at the time too. I hope they make another one with some red in it. Lots of tails are pink, pink, and more pink I feel like. Being the traditional tomboy, I want something a bit less girly. However, I still love all the tails they come out with!

I think out of all the retired tails though, I'm mostly sad about Dragonfly being retired. It has some nice green and blues, with a hint of purple. Which made it a bit less feminine but with the right touch of it. I also really liked the idea of Iron Maiden, since I used to love steampunk. Such a cool Halloween idea. But I can see why it might not have been super popular.

What are your guys' thoughts?

I bought the Lunar Tide tail for a friend of mine and I'm trying to work on a tail print to use for their custom tail creator. I want the print to look nice like my Finfolk fabric tail, since this one will also be a gift for a friend. I don't own any finfun tails myself, but I do keep an eye on them.

I've made one for their custom tail creator! I thought that was such an awesome idea to make a tail creator. The tail basically looks like the drawing in my icon. I made another few too just for fun. It's also handy to use when you want to come up with tail designs.

I own two FinFun monofins, my aunt has been making basic colored tail skins for me to fit them. My favorite tail skin they offer is a tie between the lunar tide tail and the blue tang tail.

I really love the new Orca tail! The white one from last month looks great too. But stupid Facebook hasn't really been showing FinFun posts on my page lately so I keep missing the drawings. I know I'm not likely to win, but I'd like to have a shot, ya know? Lol. I have a Tidal Teal but I'd love to get the Orca and Silver Lightning sometime. I hope those stick around for a bit.

I really hope they make some darker colored and themed tails. Bright colors are nice and all, I just want some variety, ya know? When the Siren TV series premiered they had an Instagram promotion where 10 people would win a tail designed like the one in the show. I wish they'd make that one available for sale!

Their large fits me, and I am over 40" at the waist. The main issue I have is they need to be longer. My swim suit keeps getting exposed at the rear.

I went to the "Mermaid Mania 2018 California Pool Party with Fin Fun" on Saturday. It happened to be within 60 miles of me.
I was a little worried I would not fit in, as Fin Fun seems to cater to younger girls. Most people there were younger girls, but there were also some boys and adults.
One man had his two daughters there. I asked him where his tail was, and he said he did not wear one. I, and his two daughters started trying to convince him to try it. At one point we were all chanting "join us... join us...". I asked if he was afraid of looking silly or drowning. He said he did not care about looking silly, but was concerned about drowning. I pointed out that over by the steps, where there was an instructor, the water was only 3 feet deep, so he could always just stand up. A short time later I did see him in a tail. He wore it for a good portion f the swim.
Before going, I asked if tails other than Fin Fun were allowed. They were, so for half the swim I used my Spellbound. Many there had never seen a silicone tail, and were fascinated by it. I was the only one who brought a silicone tail. The other half of the swim I used my Fin Fun.
I met Lyn Kenady who is VP of marketing at Fin Fun. She said that although Fin Fun started by selling to younger girls, they are expanding to boys, adults, and the elderly. I showed her the modifications I had made to my tail (elastic waistband, stiffening plate, reinforcing strap, bent monofin). She took pictures of it all. She also said that a stiffer, more powerful monofin is going to be available in a month or so.

I finally got to try a finfun tail when I did a meetup with my friends who live scattered across the country. I'm used to my foil and my huge finfolk tail, so I felt like I was going to break the finfun monofin just by using it. I hope the sturdier one is less flimsy.

I’m really into the new Atlantis tails! But I’m still eyeing the orca tail and my Tidal Teal is fine, I haven’t even had it very long, and without making more money I can’t justify buying a new tail right now. I’ll probably spring for one on the next tax season. I want to wait for a design I really love before getting an Atlantis tail anyway.

I was wondering what everyone's opinion on the Finfun Atlantis was? I am tempted to buy one with a new monofin for it since mine was bent and best sent with a friend of mine so she could learn and practice being a mermaid. Any news from people who have bought one?

I have an Atlantis tail. I will compare it to my 2 year old tidal teal tailskin.

Tidal teal:
I took my measurements, because I had no other experience. Concluding from those, I bought a size S. It is from the generation I had to put on tip protectors on myself. I don't really like how they turned out after two years of use: they became yellow, and are quite different in colour now from the rest of the fabric. Also on top it drops. Someone with more experience told my I had a size to big. Because I got a (very) small hole in it on the fluke, I wanted to replace it, and came to the Atlantis tail.

Sea Dragon Atlantis tail:
Because my previous tail was one size to big, I decided to immediatly go for one size smaller: the XS. I live in the Netherlands, so had to wait a little. When I ordered, it was wednesday afternoon here, but FinFun had still to start their working day. Next morning for me it was already sent. On Saturday afternoon it arrived in the Netherlands, only to have to wait for clearance on monday, and have it delivered on tuesday. On top it doesn't have a lot of stretch, so it is quite a struggle to get it over my thighs and butt. But when I wear it, it fits slimmer than my tidal teal, which feels a bit loose sometimes. The colours are amazing, almost exactly the same as my screen shows the colours to be! The extra fins feel sturdy, I think it has neoprene in it. I like the movement under water. The heel fins move nicely with the flow. The hip fins are smaller, and move mostly with my movement. I don't have footage, so I can't really see how the dorsal moves. When it came in the dorsal lay down to one side, and when I wear it, I have the idea it still does. I have hopes that when I use it more, and put it away to the other side, it gets better. I had to put the neoprene in the extra fins in it's place a little, especially in the tips (and mostly from the hip fins). It already has inforced tip points, so no stickers to put on to protect them. the colours in the tips have therefore almost the same colour as the rest of the fluke, just slightly darker. I have only swam in it once, but I love it very much. When I went to buy my tidal teal, I said, 'THAT´S my tail´. Now I don´t feel that as much as I did, because I love my Sea Dragon Atlantis tail a bit more. Sadly I don´t have pictures yet, only when trying on, and that one is to dark to show the colours in a good way.

Has anyone else gotten an Atlantis tail? I'm eyeballing them now since my 2014 FF is finally ready to retire and die. Is there a seam in the back? In one pic it looks like there is, running all the way down to the fluke. I'm curious how well reinforced the back fin is, because I tend to do a lot of sitting or scooting around and don't wanna mess it up too soon.

Hi all, Im a newbie when it comes to tail swimming and am looking to order my first tail this spring or summer from Fin Fun! Im a bit on the shorter side (4"11) and am curvy/chubby so Im having a hard time figuring out which size I need... Im looking at the adult large or XL and lord trying to choose a skin is proving challenging cuz theres several I like so I thought maybe i'd get a custom design so I'm working on that...anyway any advice or anything ya'll have I would greatly appreciate :)

To me, this is no different from doing something like using a free base like us furries do for some art and being paid to color the base. I want my hipppcampus tail colors- would have to shoot you a message.

Anyway, I recently got my very first tail, the finfun Celtic Green!!!! I'm absolutely in love, it's so pretty!! Green is my very favourite colour and so of the tails fin fin has, this is my favourite. I'm a big fan of how realistic the scale design and colours are, unlike the aussie green which is more "patchy"

I got the "new" monofin, the advanced monofin pro, based on reviews ive watched by nerdmaid faith and courtney mermaid on the different monofins. It was $15 extra to my order, and I got a new customer 10% off coupon that took off $10. I like that the AMP has foot cushioning and a line of stitching between the feet, to prevent rubbing. I have chronic pain so comfort is key!
I've yet to swim in it because it's February and I'm at college in a small snow-covered town without an indoor pool, but so far I love it!!! I plan to post my unboxing video soon on my YouTube 🧜🏻*♀️

Anyone else think the new Hawaiian tail looks like the Finfolk Lillikoi? It even has similar scale shape. (Not trying to hate on Finfun, cuz I love them, but this weirds me out)

Personally, I really love the Hawaiian tail and the fact that they are branching out into a more realistic scale shape.

As far as the scales go, we mers tend to gravitate towards that style, and most tail makers have at least one option that has their own artistic spin on it. So I'm personally not all that bothered by it.

One of the things I don't really like is the fade to white in the middle and then up on the waistband. If they had stuck with making it go to a lighter brown I think that would have been better. I've decided, after trying my FinFun in the local recreational lake (actually an ocean bay, but water chop levels comparable to an average lake), that I'm going to swap my standard FinFun monofin for a Finis Luna.

I know it'll stretch my tails out so that they'll only fit the Luna, but that's okay.

I've watched a few videos of folks stuffing a Luna into their FinFun tails. Does anyone here do this? How is it? How's the flop? The propulsion? How stretched out / damaged did your tails get with that monofin?

The Luna wont stretchout a finfun skin al all however the Linden does as I have x2 finfun skins I've used both with the Linden and then put the Luna in and its stretched a bit so gonna get a new finfun skin to use just with the Luna

I have a Luna in a finfolk. Little tip, stitch some little squares of velcro on the inside of the finfolk fluke and this will hide the bottom of the luna

I love their newest tail. I keep yelling at them to do this color and that color and stop putting blues in everything. Finally, we have a beautiful green tail. I want it so badly. It really vibes with my natural brown and green tail, the fluke design and the scales going down to the middle match me a lot. I like the bigger, thicker looking scales, hopefully they won't stretch and become too big on an adult. I'm more for smaller scales. I don't care for the 'pearl' theme but it isn't really noticeable and not something that would stop me from buying it in the future.

So after the catastrophe that was my failed try to make my first tail with my two left hands that left must to be desired and is best not talked about ever again, i've decided to order a commercial one and choosed fin fun blue sea dragon model, i'll be receiveing it soon. I can't wait to have a real first tail this time! Sure due to pools still being dangerous i could only wear it at home for a while but still i'm glad i will finally be able to have a real one!

Thanks. Interesting review. Hey i'm so happy! I've just received my Fin Fun Sea Dragon Atlantis Mermaid tail. It's beautiful and very fitting. Still I could only test it dry and should wait for saturday in order to test it wet in my long bathtub (i most often take shower and only take a very occasionnal bath on some rare Saturday usually so that's an habit of mine not to do it another day and being autistic i very like my routine and could not really differ from it) where i can manage to swim a bit (since all pools are not wise to go at my area at the moment and for a long time due to COVID that's my only hope of swim tail until unknown day), i'll review the tail when i will have swim a bit with it but for know i'm very satisfied of it. I long for my first real swimtail as a mermaid next Saturday therefore even if in not ideal conditions.
