Hi everyone! Mermaid at heart and tail desinger here!

Hi everyone! :D

Long time mermaid fan! Only really dicovered that you could swim with a mermaid tail around a year ago HA! I'm so out of touch...

ANYWAY, thanks to a very special mermaid who greatly inspired me , I started designing mermaid tails. Here's a few I've done so far!:

The first one was based on some artwork I did quite a few years ago. The second was based on my first pet fishy, Alfredo (heh) and the other ones are just butterflies and moths :D Also, sorry about the sizing, I couldn't seem to get the right image size!

I don't swim with a tail just yet, I've only every really used flippers, but one day I'll print one of these out finally have my very own tail! :D My family are from Portugal, GREAT place for swimming pools and going to the beach, but I currently live in the UK. Not that great for swimming!

Anyway, hope you guys like them!

Oh, I only wish I had artistic skills! I do have a pretty specific tail design I want made, and I think I found a maker who can do it. I'm just an art consumer though, I need pros to help me bring my ideas to life. I just get excited when I see new artists and makers come to the community. ^_^

I am looking to try and print some of my designs at some point and I REALLY enjoy trying to imagine what my cousins tails would look like! I've got 1 younger sister and 6 younger cousins, all girls who love mermaids too! Will try and keep posting my designs on here, or maybe I should create a new thread?

I've also recently discovered another program I can use, other than Photoshop, called Autodesk Sketchbook, which I think is free, and it has an option to create a mirror effect which works in real time - perfect for drawing symmetrical tails!

Thank you so much! I've actually just noticed that I started using a different template after my second design HA! I think I got bored at work and just drew up a quick template, copy pasted it 4 times on a sheet of paper and then went to town on the printer XD

Probably should have been a bit more patient and done it at home, I much prefer the shape of my first 2! Oh well, that's how I learn I guess!

Hi there! I do indeed accept commissions! I would be happy to design a few tails for you! =)

Tier 1 - Simple lineart and colour sketch/concept - £10/$13-£15/$19.
Tier 2 - Moderately detailed design with simple shading - £20/$26-£25/$33.
Tier 3 - Very detailed design/shading + extras eg. barnacles/stafish/ etc... - £35/$46-£40/$52.
Extra - Matching top design T1-£3/$4. T2-£5/$6. T3-£7/$9.

The price varies on how much input you want to have. Cheaper if you basically send me an image you want me to base it off and let me go wild and do my own thing haha!

I've also added below a current tail design I'm working on! This one would be in Tier 3, around the £35/$46 mark as it only really had detailed shading but no extra bits like barnacles attached to it or piercings.

Autodesk is AMAZING!! Don't get me wrong, I love Photoshop, but being able to see what you're doing in real time, instead of having to copy and flip a layer constantly, saves so much time!
