Now that I have a silicone tail, I can try things that I always wondered about, but I have never seen anything about. For example:
When I picked up the tail, Eric at Mertailor said that to get into the tail, the first step is to turn it inside out as far as possible, as shown below.

But, I found that after getting my feet into the monofin, I could not reach the waistband of the tail. I am not flexible enough. I needed help to get the tail on.
So, what if I fold the waist back right side out, as shown in the second photo? This worked very well, and I was able to get the tail on without any help.

At that point there were two folds in the tail. What if I kept going, and put in four folds? The result is shown below.

The white things in the center are the monofin foot straps. Normally, you cannot see these straps, and it is hard to reach them. But with the tail folded in this manner, you can see and reach them with ease.
Consider what that means: Fold you tail this way, and the struggle adjust or get into the monofin mostly goes away.
This does not bind up the tail. Everything is quite lose, and the tail will quickly and easily unfold when I lift the tail by the fluke. But, Ive never seen anything like this done with a silicone tail. Am I doing something horribly wrong? Or have a found something new?
