Hello, my name is Luna and I'm a new to the merfolk community. My love for merfolk started when i was very young, often I pretended I was a mermaid when a kid. Ariel of course, like most children, was my favorite and her movie soundtrack was often played on repeat. I swam nearly every day, practicing my tail swimming. I came across the merfolk community around 2010. I was instantly in love and had all kinds of plans in my head. But sadly they stayed in my head, until recently.

Often times, I get funny looks or funny remarks about being too excited over something thats not real. But to me it is real, and everyone who is in the merfolk community and doing it as a career really inspires me. They always seem to have a positive message. One of the first mermaids I came across was Mermaid Melissa. She has the goal of changing people's outlook on how the ocean is treated, and thats always been something I wanted to inspire as well. I love teaching children, but the standard classroom never really appealed to me. So when i see mermaids teaching children about the ocean and making them smile, its just something i know i was born for.

I really hope to make this into something, and thats why I am here. To get all the knowledge i can from veterans like you all!

I have so many questions and want to ask them all right away, but i know better and will take it slow. ;) I also still have to search threads to see if they are already answered. hehe.

love you all! and keep up the great work

You seem like such a nice person. Children are great, and I will never understand people who insist that they just don’t like them. Kids are so open-minded and full of wonder.
Anyway, glad to have you here! Feel free to ask questions, we’ve all been there.

Welcome !!!! Not all of us are veterans, but we help where we can! I am 25 and been swimming recreationally in a fabric tail for about a year, I have my silicone tail paid off but I need to lose some weight before I send in my measurements.

What area are you from? Do you have a tail?
