OMG it worked !!!!! Now what?

So a while back I asked if anyone had tried putting silicone over large penny sequins over neoprene, to look like scales, right? Well, after that I started sewing sequins onto swatch of neoprene, but then life got in the way and I never tried the silicone overlay. Then the other day, I was feeling kinda frustrated about some everyday stuff so to calm down, I grabbed my neoprene swatch and a tube of aquarium silicone and tried my idea. Guess what? IT WORKED!!! The silicone cured, it's flexible, the seqiuns didn't cut thru the silicone, and it totally looks like scales!!!!! I will post some pictures!!
So now what? well, I guess my next step is figuring out what to lay over the fluke to look like veins or whatever for texture.... but I just had to share that my experiment worked!!!!! YIPPY!!!

For veins, how about some sort of metallic string or something? It'll be plactic-ey and shine like the sequins, so it could match, I think.

This is the BEST solution EVER! The sequins are sooooo fragile when you sew them on but this will give you both the shimmery sequin scale effect and the glossy fishiness of the silicone!

I'm curious. Did you just lay the silicone over the scales, or did you put it on the sequins layer by layer do there was silicone between the sequins as well? This sounds like a breakthrough in tail technology. :) kudos to you!

i've had ideas to make other things like this....not tails...i'm not that ambitious to make a tail of any kind, but i would imagine that would be insanely time consuming.
