Hi, I'm Demeter!
I decided to buy my first monofin just an hour ago and I already can't wait to receive it in the mail.
I wanted to buy a monofin first then buy a fabric tail after because I thought that was best.
I chose the name Demeter for my mermaid name since my real name is another version of the beautiful Greek Goddess and I adore Greek Mythology so, why not.
I'm hoping to make a lot of new friends on here too!

Hi Demeter! :) congrats on getting your first monofin! Im still saving up for one too but it’ll be exciting to use it. Where did you get yours from?
Also Demeter sounds like a great name, especially since many people are celebrating Imbolc or beginning of spring now [emoji170]

Hiya! I'm always down to chat ^_^ welcome!
Love the mername, obviously don't share it but now I'm curious about your real name too :P
I love all the neat names peoples parents gave them here! I'm named after a flower in real life and it doesn't match my personality AT ALL Haha
My future progeny are getting cool names after this forum experience judgement be damned Haha

Hey there! Demeter is such a lovely name. I have a few friends who call me Dragon, both online and irl, which is kind of ironic on a mermaid forum but whatever :P
Your decision to get a monofin first was a wise one, since you don’t want to bang up your tail. What kind of monofin did you get?

I did a lot of research before deciding which one I wanted first. I ended up saving up for the new fantasea fin too from Mertailor

My name is an older one that's Greek and French, but as much as I love my name it's a little frustrating to see people misspelling it all the time lol

Hi nice to meet you! Well I was going to get a fabric tail first because it is limited and I fell in love with it, but I decided to get the fantasea fin too. I have been saving up for it for a while now and I wanted to swim with the monofin first before getting a tail too

My name has always been pronounced wrong with people adding extra letters that don't exist AS THEY READ IT so don't feel bad!

Hi there! I'm a new mermaid myself, I've had a mermaid tail for the past couple of years and now it's all worn out , because I wore it so much (lol), but now I'm seeking for a new one, it won't be anything like Kingfisher (the old tail), it's going to be even better, I'm making anew one you see. Aslo I adore Greek mythology, it's incredibly fasinating. Have fun with your tail! It'll be flippin awesome.

Demeter is SUCH a pretty name. Love it! And a lot of new mers seem to be getting monofins before tails. Honestly, it's a pretty smart way to go about it as you figure out whether or not this hobby is something you want to take up seriously! Happy swimming! Excited for you to get your fin! Make sure you post all the pictures! ❤️

That's what I fear with fabric tails is that they'll wear out. On the other hand I really don't want to shell out 1,800 to 5,000 dollars for a silicone one either. Plus the silicone tails are really hard to get on from what I've seen in a lot of videos.. And thank you I will enjoy my first tail so much!

This will probably just stay a hobby tbh. I like your name too it's very cute! What my plan was to get the monofin because that was cheaper then save up for a fabric tail. The tail I want to get is the yellow koi fish tail from mertailor and it's stressing me out that it's only available for a limited time so, I'm hoping I can get my hands on one soon!

Ooh! I wish you luck! Y'know if you're crafty at all that's a great way to make a little side money. Just some elastic and seashells can go a pretty long way on sites like etsy or zazzle! Lots of mers are looking for cute accessories and stuff that are fairly easy to design and create!
