Spandex vs. Neoprene

I ordered a mermaid.magictail.de tail, and i'm planning on using the monofin for a silicone merman tail as soon as I can get the materials. My question is could I use the spandex skin on the magictail for a liner on the inside of the silicone tail or would i have to use neoprene?

From everything I've read you can use spandex as the liner no problem but if you are going to be using ALEX or another material for the tail that is not strictly skin safe (sounds like to me anything but Dragon Skin) I would suggest Neoprene as it would provided a thicker barrier between your skin and said unsafe material.
