Hey guys! Is this thread still active?? I’m an active swimmer and was looking to make some local merfriends and find indoor pools for the off season! I hate having to quit swimming at the end of every summer!

I’m located in Morocco (a little town in the middle of nowhere) so Lafayette is the big town I frequent. I’m so sorry to hear you haven’t been able to enjoy the summer swimming!

I live about a half hour from there in a little town as well! I go often but I was afraid to invest in a ymca membership just to have my fin banned [emoji28] if they are monofin friendly you will definitely be seeing me all cold season!

Finally got my back straightened out. I'm still swimming at the YMCA on creasy lane several days a week. They refer to me as their "resident mermaid" lol but I did see a couple new mermaids swimming recently. They were teens maybe early 20s! I'm excited I am trying to get a mermaid exercise class going eventually.

I’m there 2 to 3 days a week and there’s always the 3 of us but sometimes I bring up to 5 merfolk [emoji28] there are a couple of Mers I’ve been talking to over Facebook who also attend that y.... I woukd love nothing more than to swim with a group of mermaids, or even just have a cup of coffee and talk with you all. I just got my tail in January. Do any of you work professionally?

Also I am an aquacise instructor at creasy lane YMCA and I am trying to get a Mermaid exercise class for adults going, is that something you would be interested in?

My daughter is just breaking the scene in working professionally, and I’m willing to take her as far as she wants to go with that. I would totally be interested in that! I’ve been monofinning for over a decade and already have freediving certs and my own workout routine, but I think it’d be a great way to meet more mers... and find ones who didn’t know they were!

Oh my gosh! look at all these mers! I thought I was alone in Indiana. I'm so glad I created this thread. I didn't have the funds to keep my ymca membership and kind of stopped coming on here. I'm back though and thinking of getting my membership back. I'd love to meet up sometime!
