Well I had to wait a month but my local pool ate letting me swim in my mermaid tail. Yes I have to get insurance and hire a lane for an hour but it's better than nothing. Here's the email I got off the council.43820

Sounds like a start, and to me it also seems they are generally interested but don't know much about monofins and tails and all the implications, and therefore play on the cautious side. At least it seems like a good starting point to maybe establish something like more general rules if they see that tails and monofins are ok when used with sense by capable swimmers. :)

Totally. Me personally, I believe that if you've done a course and can show how quick you can get out of the tail (do a risk assessment) I dont see the problem
