shooting a video in a deep pool solo

so I want to record some of my choreos on the bottom of a deep pool (diving pit).
There is nothing down there to anchor a camera to, only the blank walls.
Would a suction cup work underwater? (One of those meant for putting your camera onto your windshield in a car)

I don't want to put it onto the floor, it wouldn't look good from that angle.

I can't speak from experience, but I imagine if you affixed it to a smooth tile it would work fine, yeah. Sounds fun!

Pretty sure it will work underwater, especially on smooth tiles. Should work even better than on dry land, I guess.

It definitely will work, looked around a little, and aquarium divers use those glass carrying suction handles to fix themselves to the windows while cleaning them (I knew that I have seen them being used underwater before). So the windshield holder will work. Good luck with those videos, hope they turn out well.

not as easy as it sounds.
The divers in the club there are all bubblers, I don't know many apneists, and I'm staying in 4m depths for a loooong time
(sometimes the entire routine), then do that repeatedly during each session.
There is also the liability issue in case someone doesn't quite know their limits.

So it's much easier to just fix the camera down there :p

So, the thread rested for a while, but I thought it would fit.

Just came across an interesting idea: There is a floating disc with a Gopro mount. It can be turned upside down, so the camera floats just below the surface. With an extension, maybe that could be an interesting option as well. I think a kickboard could be modified in the same way, and the larger the float the lesser the wave influence would be:
