Have I offended people here?

I want to know if I have offended people here. I say this because I have private messaged some people with no response, and even private messaged Winged mermaid with some questions and I got no response. And just a little while ago noticed a post of mine deleted with no statements about what I have done wrong.


When people do not communicate with me I have to assume it is because I am seen as being bad.

I wouldn't take it personally if someone has failed to respond to a PM you sent them. Some people don't make a habit of communicating that way and there's even the possibility that the user in question doesn't check their inbox much and has no idea that they have a message in there at all. As a rule of thumb, it makes sense to assume that it's probably innocent on the part of the person that's not responding rather than them taking offence at you.

I for one am horrible, I see I have a private message and if it's anything beyond a simple a straightforward answer I wont have the mental ability to respond for a day or so. Huzah for school sucking all will and life out of it's students :P I wouldn't worry to much about it if there is a problem you'll know.

Yeah, I try to reply to all messages but some fall through the cracks. At any rate, I don't think anyone is mad at you.

malinghi, nice to meet you too. I guess it is my mistake that I assummed people pay attention to private messages. Maybe most people prefer facebook or something but I don't do facebook. I didn't even want to do myspace when that was all the rave. The thing is I would like the option to communicate outside of the public posting.

I totally sympathize. I avoid FB as much as possible.

Winged Mermaid sometimes misses messages sent to her but if you message me or e-mail me at malinghi@gmail.com then I should get the message and get back to you eventually.

yea...i have noticed that a lot of people on here don't respond to messages, regardless of how often they are online...and they also don't send requests and sometimes don't respond to them either. i haven't much paid attention since the first few days i was signed up...because i was honestly quite shocked when i noticed a pattern between number of friends and number of posts. there are senios members with hundreds of posts and zero friends. so i wouldn't take it personally.

I have two PMs that are waiting for answers, one to winged mermaid as well. I think maybe people are just busy? Although one of the people I've seen has been on a few times since I messaged them...

I agree, i haven't noticed any reason for anyone to be "offended" by you :)
and I've also noticed that my inbox gets "full" very quick if I don't keep on top of clearing it out. Something I'm not used to doing cause you never have to with gmail.
I also am a HORRIBLE FB pen-pal... I was likewise pissed when everyone was like: Are you on friendster? Are you on friendster? so I got friendster... then everyone said: Are you on Myspace? Are you on Myspace? So I sighed and joined Myspace... then everyone said: Are you on Facebook? Are you on Facebook? So I grumbled angrily and joined Facebook... then everyone said: Do you Twitter? Do you Twitter? And I said NO I @#*&*@!& DON'T!
