So I'm making a sequin tail, but to try and combat the "shed" of sequins I will be sewing them down, and "gluing" them with silicone.

My scales are 47mm and I am wondering if anyone else has tried this.

Sequins will cut through silicone eventually.

Im going to thry this too! First I want to sew the scales on and then cover the part where there is wire with silicone. I haven’t tried this though!

You are best off sewing the sequin on with upholstery thread and using a waterproof glue like e6000 to glue the knots so they don’t unravel

Thanks! That’s exactly what I’m doing, and so far so good. All scales are very very sturdy. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200605/6c89009be7862b15c47ddc6d017cc06a.jpg

Whether its a success or disaster, it should at least be interesting to see when it's complete.
