Yesterday evening after hours finally at 6:00pm, I finally finished stitching on the dorsal and the fluke to the body by hand...whew!!!.[emoji16]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200601/d4cb7119d602fae9025fa8d490d2a10f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200601/10080983408c0a4509c442c958499632.jpg

There was alot of "yeowws" and "ouch" as well as I was pinning the edge of the body/skin to the fluke [emoji38].....by the way this tail was a bit inspired by Splash Madison's[emoji846]

Wow looking great! I love the colours! I also did everything hand stitched for about three years. I finally broke down and just bought a machine but now I dislike sewing so much I havn't brought myself to start a sewing project :(

I can use the machine (and I have one), but I prefer sewing by hand.
It does take longer, yes, but I'm quite fussy and get mad if a stitch is messed up, and the machine isn't accurate enough for my tastes.
Also, I can do special stitches most machines do not have, as well as sew difficult materials (chiffon and such) without any problems!

no one needs machines! ;)

I have a fairly nice sewing machine and know how to use it, but I still tend to hand stitch fussy projects. I've never made a tail before, but I can share the sentiment from other projects. Plus, there is something kind of romantic about knowing every stitch of something was lovingly (or maybe angrily when you hit the frustrated stage for the day,) hand placed.
