Anyone now how to make one of the fancy shell tops like these:
2579

or

2580

I heard that you don't use hot glue cause it falls of in the water so what do you use? Mainly one the one with a billion shells how do you get them to stay on without risk of them falling off?

I used epoxy to make my shell tops. I based a lot of my designs off of tops I found online, mostly Mermaid Raven's and the Mertailor's.
Epoxy will NEVER come apart and it's really messy to work with, so if you're going to use it, use gloves and work outside. It's pretty
smelly.

I use gorilla glue for my tops! That's shell on fabric or shell on netting (pic (http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/s720x720/64167_289797504424323_100001822264620_764318_51315 1625_n.jpg)). For shell on shell adhesive, or fixing a broken shell, epoxy is defiantly the way to go (even Gorilla glue and super glue won't hold a broken shell together but epoxy will). You can find epoxy and gorilla glue at not only hardware or home improvement stores, but also stores like Walmart, Target, ect. They're pretty common. Epoxy comes in a tube with two sides- you have to mix it together in equal parts to use it. Like Syrenia says, it's pretty messy. At least when I accidentally gorilla glued netting to my skin I got it off pretty easy. If that was epoxy I don't think I would have been as lucky O_O

lol I accidentally epoxied a leaf to my arm when I was making my top. That crap did not come off until I scrubbed and scrubbed it off. Be warned that if you let it dry on your skin, it might get uncomfortably warm. It could have just been the epoxy that I used, but still.
The price for it is pretty cheap at home improvement stores. I tend to find that wal mart is a little bit more expensive, so I suggest Home Depot or Ace hardware. It's pretty cheap, too.
