Anyone know of any good underwater cameras for a mer on a budget?
Me and a couple of friends want to do an underwater photo shoot but we don't have a camera:doh: We can always put our money together to buy one but being 16 I only have a summer job at this point.

depends on your budget i guess. You can buy a cheap little camera and get a good underwater cover for it) I ended up buying a "DicaPac" for my Canon P&S camera (they have it for all types even vid cams) to record underwater, with no issues, 4 years later and its still going strong, here i am with a GoPro HD 2 wondering if i made a mistake purchasing it considering the blurry quality underwater without the Flatlens.

I bought my underwater camera from Sears for $80. It's the camera I use for everything, in and out of the water. I have a couple of pictures in my profile, and even my signature was taken with my camera. ^^

Y'know- I got a kodak underwater throw away at cvs to do my pictures in the pool... and I think they turned out great! As long as its a sunny day that is.
And they take great pics in AND out of the water.
Nice for a mer on a budget ;)

That's right! I forgot I lived by a lake for a minute there XD
I also need to know if anyone has taken any good night shots. Like if your only lighting was the pool light?

I'm unsure about lake water, I imagine if its pretty clear water and sunny that it would work, but I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket.
Bellasea- yes- where ever they sell disposable cameras I think they would carry them
^.^

If the weather is good next week. I heard it was supposed to be the 70s! (cross your fingers!) Then the little lakes, mostly Duck Lake and White Lake, should be warm (-ish). Lake Michigan, I'll probably have to wait till the end of May/early June.

It's a Samsung something. Just go onto sears.com and I'm sure you can find it.

That's it, but I'm not sure why it's so expensive. Perhaps it was on sale when I bought it.... *ponders*

I have. ^^ I actually work at Sears so I know all the specs about it.
The camera has a special light absorbing lens that allows you to take crystal clear pictures, even in the dark. It does fantastically in lakes and rivers. It's seriously the best thing I have ever invested my money in.

You might want to use and existing camera and buy a generic waterproof camera case from eBay or Amazon. They can be had for 25-35 for most cameras
