Hey all.

First off I'd like to introduce myself as this is my First post on this forum! I'm Sam I'm an entertainer from the Uk branching out into the mer-business.

Anyway I am currently doing the usual, designing a latex tail, gathering shells and jewels etc but I thought the most important thing to get before starting the business is to get Public Liability Insurance. Now I have my quote and ready to buy it but my question to you is this........ I have the option to pay and extra £60 for legal expenses insurance, but do you thin there is any real need? Have any of you professional mermaids been face with any legal battles?

Anyway hope all is well in the merworld and look forward to reading your replies!

Thank you

Sam

Do it. Some events will not even look at you without performers insurance, it's so little, and it can protect your tail if stolen or damaged

Thanks Rianna, I'm just trying to find a company that will cover me. As I think I might be one of the only people in the UK branching out into the mermaid industry I think all the companies fine me a bit weird. Just be declined by one lot on the phone. :( Is there no room for an insured mermaid in this country?

yes I contacted several for quotes- it took a bit to find one that could adapt a policy for me, but it can be done

Here in the US does anybody know any Insurance places that could possibly cover or create a policy for Mermaids?

That's the problem i'm having everyone seems to have very significant and straightforward policies and i'm struggling to find one that can adapt a policy and tailor make www.rabbit-insurance-broker.co.uk (http://www.rabbit-insurance-broker.co.uk) to suit me!

This is who I use. They have quite a few mermaids covered in fact. Talk with them - they should be able to help you out :)
