Hiya guys! I'm in a mermaid Telegram chat and a lot of people have talked about their mermaiding struggles. I think a lot of it stems from people having different goals, like people who want to do it for fitness, to model, to do tank shows, other professional stuff, or just for fun! Some people also struggle to find the the time or places to do mermaiding stuff, like access to pools (especially right now with Covid things), or even just places to find affordable tails (I see this a lot with international mers).

I guess I really want to know: What are YOUR goals and struggles to meet those goals?

My best friend has a couple of mermaid certifications and wants to help teach mermaiding to others, but that only seems to be of interest to people who want to do professional stuff rather than just for fun (which is totally fine of course!). But I know she has trouble getting information out to people when it's not 1 on 1, so we're trying to figure out how to do little lessons on youtube or something (new years resolution!!)

I am afraid this will sound more like whining that ideas for lessons on YouTube. But you did ask.

I am a hobbyist who's main goal is to have fun. What I seem to find fun is interacting with others who share the hobby. With Covid that has been hard. But even without it, there is the issue that there are not many others in my area. It's hard to get together with anyone. The goal I struggle with: meeting with others in my area.
Another issue I have is it is much easier to tail-swim under water. But I cannot hold my breath for very long. Ive done free diving tables of various types, gotten apps to help with them, even made some of my own. Nothing helps. The goal I struggle with: Swimming underwater for a reasonable time.
Another goal I struggle with is finding monofins that fit me. It seems every monofin maker is of the opinion that all users are either women or men with small, AAA width feet.

Any of that of any use to your goal?

Complain away!! Honestly I'm less looking for ideas and more trying to figure out what people are struggling with. I totally feel you with breath hold. I don't really do the mermaiding myself but I do swim practice with a monofin, plus underwater photography for mermaids, and my breath hold is *terrible*. Which is obviously not great for sticking out the time the mermaids are swimming LOL!

I feel like there are a few small niche areas for mermaids, like this forum and Facebook sometimes, but not a ton are super active or focused on mermaiding specifically (vs. fan pages about "mermaid content" or something). I really love forum sites, but I know they've been tragically losing popularity over the past few years..

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hunting for a website that could write my assignment when I came across https://www.grabmyessay.com/write-my-assignment, which assisted me in producing an excellent essay. If you would want to compose your essay as well, check out this website; it is really useful for students.

You've done Geometry Dash (https://geometrydashfree.org) an excellent job researching the topic.

Finding suitable and safe places for mermaiding, such as pools or open water areas, can be a challenge, particularly if you don't live near the coast or if there are limited facilities available. Mermaiding often requires specialized equipment like mermaid tails, which can be expensive to purchase or rent. The associated costs for classes, safety gear, and accessories can also add up.
