mermaid minerals sent me their's and man I gotta tell you its epic. I was talking to the creator about it, she made it with frequent water exposure in mind! might be worth a shot!

I also found using a night cream every night helped, I alternate between a clinique one special for skin proned to redness whenever my skin got blotchy, and then an olay night cream. Also, putting a light bit of cold cream under makeup helps seal in the moisture too I find!

I use a night time moisturizer by Garnier called Moisture Rescue: Refreshing gel cream. It locks in moisture and does block out dryness. I use it on a routine now and can say that it really helps me, especially living here in Colorado where it can get super dry in the summer. Hope you find something that works for you!

thanks for the suggestions I might Garnier a go. I just ordered foundation from MM so i cant wait to see how it is on my face.. Kanti yea vaseline is more for the body than the face i suppose. It sucks having dry skin in general, cause then my makeup flakes. :(

Hope the garnier works for you. There are so many different moisturizers out there to chose from it can be hard, but it is all about what works best for your skin. I have heard that Olay moisturizers is pretty good too.

Vaseline is terrible for the body and all those mass produced products have so many chemicals in them. I would try organic coconut oil or an organic lavender cream. You can get any of these at a health store or a WholeFoods. Hope this helps :)

The only thing with Garnier is they test on animals.
Philosophy makes great moisturizers and they're cruelty free.

Olive oil is good if you don't mind smelling like fancy bread and having your dog following you around trying to lick you to death! xD I use it in the winter sometimes when I don't want the smelly lotion that is usually kept in our house. It is quite effective.

I use it on a schedule now and can say that it really allows me, especially residing here in Co where it can get extremely dry in the summertime season. Wish you discover something that performs for you!

I didn't realize Garnier was tested on animals. I usually try and stay away from things that are tested that way but that Garnier moisturizer seems to be the only one around I can find that it oil-free and not too expensive.

What's the most you're willing to spend? I'm pretty familiar with most brands of skincare and makeup?

I use Mary Kay (which is not tested on animals) I love it because its lightweight & does a better job then anything I've used before. Nor does it make me break out (which a few brands have done), & doesn't cost and arm & a fin. ;)

My money limit on moisturizer at the moment would be about $25. If I could find something oil-free and animal cruelty free would be great!

I don't know if this is the sort of thing you guys would be interested in, but you can use just pure aloe vera gel and jojoba oil as skin moisturizers on your face. Make sure you get the really pure aloe without additives. I like the Trader Joe's brand. I've been using it on my face for months now and it's actually really cleared up my complexion, as it's apparently a mild astringent as well. I don't always like the feel of it just by itself, so sometimes I dab a bit of light moisturizer over it (like jojoba). Joboba oil is very light, it's very close to the skin's natural sebum, and doesn't cause breakouts. Plus you can mix all sorts of things into it like vitamin E and essential oils. Or if you don't want to use oil, I just tried the Trader Joe's brand moisturizer which is nice and light and smells like almonds. I don't know if everyone would have Trader Joe's nearby, though, it might just be a west coast thing :-/

Your skin is made with an oil base to it ...that is why you should use something with an oil base to it :) JoJoba oil is very good but a little heavy for some and and if you have very fair skin it is better to use minaeral oil it has no smell

I used Aveeno for a while and it worked really well, but I just recently switched to Shiseido skincare...it's amazing! The only problem is it can get a tad expensive. I believe I have a gel moisturizer and it was about $25-$30 I think. I'm guessing that's why it's so good xD But I suggest Aveeno, it's a nice product, fairly inexpensive, and there is some that have some salicylic acid to help you with breakouts and evening your skin tone. They also have a matching face wash which I still use!

A little late on this, but the Imperialis moisturizer from Lush is AMAZING. It's not oil free but it does help your skin balance oil production and manage dry spots. http://www.lushusa.com/Imperialis/00303,en_US,pd.html?start=2&cgid=moisturisers
