Hi everyone!
I know that this is a very tricky process but I would like to at least try my hand at making silicone mermaid tails. The problem is I'm not sure how to do it. I can find pieces of information here and there but can anyone give me some detailed instructions? Thank you so much!

Not a lot of people here know about the actual process and those that do don't really tend to share
their methods.
Dragonskin silicone is "platinum cure" which means its safe to make an 100% dragonskin tail without
having to worry about it getting in contact with your skin. This makes the tail more flexible than a tail
with spandex or neoprene in it. You always have the option of adding the neoprene, though.

Here's a forum that explains the BASIC idea of how to make a silicone tail.
100% silicone caulking is another option, but it's not quite different from ALEX caulking other than it
lasts longer, shrinks less, and is unpaintable. You will have to have a layer of neoprene around you and
then layer the caulking on top because the silicone is "tin cure" which means it's unsafe to cure or be
in contact with skin for too long (something like that).

This is a helpful forum that explains the process.

Yeah, there isn't much in the way of silicone tutorials yet.
Here's Star's thread (Kanti already linked to it):

Dr. Seaweed's tailmaking thread has good info:

Here's a how-to guide that's just made from adapting Dr. Seaweed's thread:
