Nice article on Weeki Wachee Siren camp. I wish I was old enough to attend one of their mermaid camps. It sounds like a lot of fun:) I think they used to have a camp for people in their late teens to twenties age range. Out of curiosity does anyone know why they stopped?

yep. Someone decided to take the training and then undersell weeki wachi. Basically, they were exploited. So they had to stop.

This Sunday (Aug 26th) at 8 am on NBC on the Today Show's weekend edition there will be a feature on Weeki Wachee and the Sirens of the Deep camp (happened to film the weekend that I attended the camp earlier this month). I know they got the host, Jenna, in a mermaid tail during the main show (and my husband said she looked a bit like a deer in headlights) and interviewed the campers and former mermaids about the camp, etc.
