In Greensboro, NC, the Natural Science Center is working on an expansion called the Carolina SciQuarium.

I wonder if they'd let merfolk swim in that 90,000 tank? :)

Perhaps I should ask the NSC if they'd like a tankful of merfolk to help drum up business? ;)

I'll be at Topsail Beach the rest of the week. It's a bit choppy for swimming in a tail, but it feels SO good to get my gills wet. :)

Oh luckyy, I'm stuck at home cleaning. But on the other hand I'm working on my tail :)

If anyone is familiar with the Greensboro Aquatic Center (http://www.greensboroaquaticcenter.com), I e-mailed them in July, asking "Is the use of skin-diving equipment; mask, fins, snorkel, allowed at the GAC? I was searching for a facility to skin-dive in during winter months". I did not want to immediately push a point by mentioning tails and monofins. Today they replied with "Yes, but not going in dive well and no SCUBA gear".

Hey, don't know if ya'll check the the Carolinas thread on the Pod of the South group page, but there's a meet up for the North Carolina Mers soon. Right now we are thinking early January and meeting at one of the aquatic centers in the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area). Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary has one of the deepest pools in the area and they are interested in having us mers there!
