Hey fellow merladies and gentlefish, I'd like to share with you YouTube links to some of the original commercials to some of my favorite vintage vinyl fashion dolls in rough chronological order...
First, let's travel back in time to 1959, with the very first commercial ever for one of the most iconic(and controversial!) American cultural icons, the one and only Barbara Millicent Roberts(yep, she has a full name!), better known as Barbie!

Ah, Francie, my favorite fashion doll ever! She's Barbie's gorgeous teenage cousin from 1966-1976 with big brown eyes I can stare at all day, a very colorful "MOD" 60's/70's wardrobe, and a small-busted teen figure that's certainly more realistic than her statuesque cousin. Fun fact: Mattel's very first African-American fashion doll was a Black version of Francie called "Colored Francie".

Dawn dolls were tiny but very beautiful 6" fashion dolls made by Topper that actually outsold Barbie for a brief period in the early '70s! My personal favorites of the Dawn line are Glori and Longlocks.

Lovely Darci was Kenner's short-lived alternative to Barbie from the late '70s/early '80s, with a much more poseable and realistic body.

I LOVE Jem more than mere words can express, the "Truly Outrageous" rock star fashion doll and animated series from the '80s!

(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XR2FVm4_x_0)I hope you guys enjoy the commercials, which represent the kind of dolls I like to collect the most, vintage fashion dolls from the '60s, '70s, and '80s!

Edit: The links to the 1959 Barbie and Darci commercials may not work, keep your fins crossed!
