Did any of you hear about the face eating man in Miami? A naked man was found on top of another naked man, eating his face. The story says that a cop showed up and told the man to get off, to which the man replied with a growl, then continued to gnaw the skin off his victim. From the news I've read, the cop fired a shot at the man, but he didn't stop his attack. then the cop fired 6 more shots to finally kill the attacker. The victim is in critical condition, his entire face is gone all the way down to his goatee.
People all over are calling it a zombie apocalypse. What's interesting, is that my boyfriend's friend from xbox live who lives in Florida, was posting a bunch of information as proof that the zombie apocalypse is really here. He claims that about a week before this "zombie" attack, there was a biohazard incident in that area. He believes this is what turned the man into a bullet resistant monster.
People are claiming that the attacker was under the influence of bath salts, but not the drug store kind. They say that Bath Salts is the name of a street drug that is heavily devastating the Miami area and it's an extremely powerful substance that people don't fully understand the effects of yet.
I would post a link to news websites, however I'm on a school computer, and all the websites with detailed articles are blocked.
My friend lives in Florida, and even though she's not near Miami, she's still coming up to Duluth until this whole thing gets sorted out. She figures if there really is a zombie apocalypse, her and I will fly up to alaska or even out of this country. She wants to go to Ireland, New Zeland, or Iceland. Even though this probably isn't a big deal and its getting blown up by the media, it's still fun to pretend like something is going to happen and come up with a survival plan.
Anyways, discuss.

Yeah there's not just that either. There's been news stories about:
-a woman eating her baby
-a man trying to eat a woman's skin
- a man stabbing himself then throwing his entrails at people
-cops pulling over a guy who then spat blood in their face
^all these are related to bath salts apparently
But people don't seem to be paying attention to what is going on in Canada, it's like something out of Dexter or American Psycho...
A few days ago our prime minister was sent a severed human foot, then the leader of the liberal party was sent a severed hand, and then a bag on the way to the NDP (all three of these are leading political parties) had a human torso. It's been tracked down to a man who's already got warrants out for his arrests for killing and using animals as sex toys, and also in connection with another murder. Police found him posting on a website dedicated to gore- a full movie where he rapes, kills, then defaces and cuts up the person he used for sending all those pieces around. The police had to watch the video- and it's still online as well as the guys abuse of animal ones. The guy is still at large and they're expecting more body parts to be sent! it's fu**ing rediculous and scary and like something out of a horror movie. The more the police learn about this guy the more scary stuff they find out he's done. The articles are all appearing now with full warnings on them as well as the news segments.

WHAT'S HAPPENING TO THIS WORLD?!?! -curls up in the fetal position-
I haven't heard of any of those stories, except for the spitting blood one. I was browsing reddit, [where this zombie story is running rampant] and somebody mentioned that there's people spitting blood out of nowhere. I think the man who likes to send appendages to prime ministers and liberal party leaders is just nuts. It doesn't seem like something drugs would do, it sounds like some sort of mental disorder.
It makes me wonder if there's some sort of connection between all of these stories. They seem to be happening all at once. Its probably far fetched to try and come up with one though. Maybe the radiation from Chernobyl has blown over here in enough quantities to affect people and we just dont know about it. xD crazy theories.

Lorelei, if oklahoma is anything like I think it is, its vast and pretty darn empty. which means you'd be fairly safe from a zombie apocalypse. xD aside from starvation, but there's probably corn fields up the wazoo out there. hmm...

Bleh yea I heard of that when I was out of town so it was scary. The place the man was attached, the
McArthur or whatever, is literally right next to where my boyfriend works so I was concerned at first, but
this is seriously a very isolated incident in comparison to a lot of those "zombie claims" people are making
due to mysterious rashes or people having to section off areas due to radiation etc.
They just think the guy was high off bath salts, which I suppose is plausible, but they don't really know.
The problem with bath salts is that I don't think they can thoroughly test for it yet so they sort
of just take a guess according to the symptoms being shown. The news report on the recent attack basically
said that people who take an excess of bath salts will usually have a very high body temperature and become
very enraged easily. It's basically like a super fever, your body will become agitated and your organs essentially
start to cook.
This is a strain of activity around the time that man went apeshit, people are saying all the zombie stuff but
I don't see a correlation between a man high on bath salts vs weird rashes and contaminated areas.

Either way, they're calling for a ban of bath salts fairly soon so if it really is just a "salt craze" then we should
stop seeing this sort of stuff fairly soon. If it really is some sort of zombie apocalypse, then judging by the symptoms it
should be very easy to outlive. The victims apparently have high fevers so if you just were to barricade yourself in your
house for a week, their own fevers will kill them. Not to mention the possibility of them simply eating themselves to death.

I bet it's PCP and people not having enough to do in their lives (so they turn to drugs). I read in an article about the Miami incident that it was cocaine psychosis.

Canada had a zombie drill a few months ago, btw. They claimed that preparing the civilian population for a zombie attack was the most inclusive way to prepare for any natural disaster. How curious.

For some reason I can't see it being PCP. It was a big drug back when my dad was in college, he said PCP wouldn't make you do anything of the sort. He said people could lift cars on it because it destroys your pain receptors and they don't feel their muscles tearing as they lift it, but he says it could never dumb down the pain enough for you to take a bullet without stopping, let alone 6 more.
However when my boss brought up the story today, he speculated that this man probably mixed a bunch of different similar drugs. Jokingly he said cocaine because it makes you crazy, and marijuana because it makes you hungry. xD we figured he probably mixed PCP, LSD, meth and cocaine together. Now that would make for one hell of a drug.

We have zombie walks here :) every year in August or September. It just started though. My friend is a photographer and he got the idea. This year will be the 3rd annual. :)

Someone suggested a brilliant zombie survival plan somewhere...can't remember where I read it. They said that if a zombie apocalypse hits, head to the middle of a desert. The zombies will rot and be picked apart by vultures before long. Someone else suggested getting out into the water, as zombies can't swim. But thinking about it, zombies can't drown either.

Here's the link: http://www.emergencyinfobc.gov.bc.ca/zombie-preparedness-week-are-you-ready.html
Also happened in Ohio, apparently: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/ohio-town-solicits-zombie-volunteers-to-test-emergency-preparedness-plan/
If you read the "most afraid of" thread on the forum, I mentioned that zombies were my number 1 irrational fear. Not proud of it (OK maybe a little) but I accidentally punched this guy in the face because he pretended he was a zombie and jumped out at me. I totally already have a million escape plans for whatever situation I'm in, haha.
Rule number one: don't depend on sharp objects. Blunt things (baseball bats, crowbars, etc) are better than knives and axes because the latter will get stuck in them.
I have also totally planned out my impenetrable zombie armor as well :P I think that if things like rabies exist, something similar to it might eventually create "zombies" or something close. Better to be prepared anyway. In the movie Zombieland they claimed it was a 2nd degree mutation of mad cow's disease. People infected had high fever and deliriousness.
... not that I actually believe a zombie apocalypse will happen or anything. >.>

Everybody knows rule number one is cardio. xD my plan is to never use a gun. Ever. The sound will draw more of them than you have ammo. I have an ultra sharp katana set in my closet for cutting off heads with ease, and I have a crowbar for brain bashing. A gun would be my VERY last resort
