Some denim washes really do look mermaid-like. I love how Shakira makes it look mermaidish in her music video "Whenever Wherever". It'd definitely be interesting to experiment with, but anything incorporating it would probably be really heavy in and out of the water.

That is so clever!
I wonder how she got those colors in her video- it is so bright.

And she has two flippers- You can just see them for a few seconds.
