OK, you're a real, permanent merperson now. You've reconciled yourself to that fact. So have your friends and loved ones (or, perhaps they've joined you).

Where are you going to live? What is your personal favorite mer habitat? Why is it your favorite?

I'm looking for real and specific places.

well unless my body had the ability to endure the cold, I think Id have to move to a warmer climate. Or I really would just try to adapt to being on land a lot and going for frequent swims. But wow what a question! I think I gotta think a bit harder...

A huge kelp forest. <3 I like the idea of hiding in the kelp and swimming around it and in it.

when i was little i asked my brother what would he do if i really turned into a mermaid one day and he said without hesitation, come live with you of course. he would tell me how he would make a house on the beach for him with a tunnel that lead out to the ocean so i could come visit and we would live on coconuts and fish and banannas.
when i got my mermaid tial he look at me and said "well i might as well sale the car and get busy"
i asked him why and he said
"cause i gotta get started on that beach house."
i love my big brother

I would totally live on the rocky north shore of Long Island, hanging out around Greenport and Orient point. It's not much, but it's home :)

I would also totally live in the coastal waters of Prince Edward Island, because even if I was really a mermaid I would still be a total Anne of Green Gables freak.

I would love to live with a pod of orcas, I'd travel with them, i always wanted to study orcas migrating, hang out with the residents and learn of the transients, but when it comes down to a permenant place, i'd love to stay in the kelp forests, but even the kelp forests arent safe from Great White Sharks, I guess I'll be living in a cave till the orcas return i suppose.

La Jolla, California. Kinda pricey but definitely dream place. I am still kind of a city girl but there is still ocean beauty.

This is a picture from the Križna Cave in Slovenia. I'd probably live in someplace like it on a magical island that features a lagoon. :3

I would love to stay in Lake Michigan, but it freezes. Although there were people kite-boarding on the lkae this past December. If I had to pick a permant place...I can't think on one! I would like to stay a freshwater mer. But I have never been somewhere that was freshwater and did not freeze in winter.

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit New Zealand several years ago. It was beautiful and intense. I would totally live there as a mermaid. :)
