So, I am known for binging on good music and I thought it be cool if we shared some of the songs we're listening to a lot right now. I love hearing new stuff. ANyway here's a few I recommend:
Here's a dancy rock song from the guys who did 'pumped up kicks'. I love the video, but I also love that the chorus is "focus on your ability" over and over. Great mantra and makes me feel positive.

Also if you still didnt know, Train put out a song about a mermaid. I only like a few of their songs but this one is so freaking catchy and it's mermaids bonus!

well, ive been listening to a lot of korn lately, which is a bit unusual for me. im usually more into classical metal or folk metal. but oh well.
right at this very moment, im listening to "souvenir" by korn.
earlier i was listening to "ocean soul" by nightwish. theyre an amazing symphonic metal band, if anyones into metal. nightwish's older singer (the only one i listen to) is sort of opera-ey. its really pretty.

Obsessed with Little Talks right now!! Also, the video is very different and quirky, telling some kind of epic Stardust-esque story.

I'm currently obsessed with Alice: Madness Returns so I have to say that my favorite song, at the moment, is this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G3MndqCVr8&feature=relmfu
And while I'm on the topic of Alice, in chapter 2 Alice (aka; main character) was going to be a mermaid. They ended up removing that, sadly.

After hearing that they're possibly reuniting, I've been listening to S Club 7, and

I also like this video a lot:

I am thinking of trying to sing this song (based on the one from Sleeping Beauty) for Karaoke this week:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEfBtPODoc4
I discovered this song by accident... I suggest watching it through to the end, because though it starts grimly, the ending is pretty spectacular.

This song is another old favorite of mine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv4NBOWhw9A
And more of a classic:

I stumbled across this song in the trailers for the movie "Beastly.

Then some Allstar Weekend:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poRRhELacLo
Then Rita Ora's How We Do, which would be fun to dance to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOOxlVUC08Q
Then an old favorite from On The Line, before Lance came out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zozmSIBvi78
A song one of the local drag queens performed last week:

Miranda Cosgrove:

Cascada:

Tiffany Thornton singing a new version of the song from Snow White:

This one is more than a bit NSFW, but it is amusing and empowering if you listen to it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5U-YT-mRmI
I desperately want to sing this song, but there's no karaoke version of it on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIqL5ENpMng
And a classic from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang:

They have made a song about mermaids! The Siren on the Once Album! My band supported Tarja a few years ago! I sang to 800 people! SCARY!

THERE ARE OTHER NIGHTWISH FANS ON HERE!!! YESSSSSS!!!!! Nightwish has been my favorite band since.. wow, 8 years now. Their music has gotten me through a LOT of hard times in my life, and the music continues to inspire me. I love that their popularity is growing fast in the US!
What I love the most about them, beyond even the metal and symphonics together is that Tuomas is a true storyteller. He creates stories, worlds, and characters. Even more than that, he'll refer back to characters and places again and again in other songs, and so one or a few lines of lyrics will be SO much more than that. He still references all the way back to their first album in the new album.
Even though I was sad to see Tarja go I am glad that the band is much happier without her. She treated them SO SO poorly.. I remember the day the letter from the band to her came out on the site. I welcome Annette even though I can't really sing her stuff that well just becuase I have a different voice type. BTW, I love that I had voice training so I can sing everything that Tarja has sung - besides that ONE note in "Devil in the Deep Dark Ocean" that's a half scream, I don't know how to do those.. yet.
I saw them perform in LA in January! It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Words can't even describe. They only did there and in FL on the metal cruise, but they're coming back around! I'm going to see them again in Seattle! :yay:
