But I like a lot of people my fascination with mermaids did start out with Ariel. I still have family members who call me Sirenita. (Little mermaid in Spanish)
But since my mom grew up where all the men were fishermen they all believed in mermaids and so did I. I have been dabbling with my mermaid costume for about 10 years now but it seemed I never had enough money or the skills to make a costume and at one point saved up 100 dollars for a real mermaid tail. Boom! I get pregnant and self-conscious thinking I can't be a mermaid! But now I am like baah screw it. I want to be a mermaid and then I found this site! I am so happy to find a mermaid community. <3
I hope to become a regular poster and will keep people posted on my mermaid progress. :)
