Thanks SeaMonkey. Does admin notify us of the change so we know what to use when logging in? Sorry but not sure how this works... I joined the forum a few yrs ago, long before I was able to make my tail and become an official mer. I've never gone through a name change on a forum before, lol.

No they don't notify you. I stay logged in but if your normal login doesn't work just use the new one.

You were supposed to leave it as Mermaid Eva as the user was using multiple accounts and Iona already merged the two accounts (Mermaid Eva and Teeth4u) and put their name as mermaid eva. They asked to have their name changed right after the accounts merged so people wouldn't know they were alt accounts.

I'd actually like to know this, too - does Mernetwork do member cleanups? If there's no info on the profile and they haven't ever posted, can accounts be deleted? It does seem unfair for usernames to be used by totally inactive profiles. It's not like they'd lose anything other than their join date, which I don't feel like they have any claim to if they never post.

Thank you for the heads up :) I personally am happy to change my name. I made my account using my regular internet handle and I just want to adapt it for the merworld. I don't forsee it ever needing to be changed again.
