Hey everyone, here's a blog post I just put up about Mermaids magazine: http://iamamermaid.com/2012/06/15/wh...aids-magazine/ (http://iamamermaid.com/2012/06/15/whats-going-on-with-mermaids-magazine/), which is the magazine that I've assembled and edited and that's being published by Kim Cross of Gwynn Oak Studios, which also publishes the gorgeous Faerie Magazine and Pirates. It was also supposed to be out long before now (and won't be out for another two months) so there's been some confusion about it, etc., and I know some people have tried to get refunds and have been having difficulty. Explanations are in the post (and I'm also happy to help resolve any issues anyone has; just email me at carolynturgeon@gmail.com or respond here, etc; because of the crises mentioned in my blog post, Kim's been super scattered right now and not always responsive)! I hope you'll be patient and forgiving and that you'll love the magazine, which is really a stunning 200+ pages of everything mermaidly. I tried to make it as wide-ranging as possible just to showcase how inspiring mermaids have been, in so many ways and to so many people. I mean, I've been doing my I Am a Mermaid blog (http://iamamermaid.com/) for nearly a year and a half now (and only started that after writing my novel Mermaid (http://www.amazon.com/Mermaid-Twist-Classic-Carolyn-Turgeon/dp/0307589978/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319722282&sr=8-1), which came out in spring 2011, and being overwhelmed by all the mermaid stuff people started sending me...), and I'm continually amazed by all of you, and all the mermaid-inspired art/places/everything out there. I've even gotten a tail and gotten scuba certified and gone to mermaid camp at Weeki Wachee -- all kinds of things! -- because of it, after having avoided beaches and the ocean for my whole life. Anyway, here's the magazine cover:

Mermaids should be out in August now, and really should be worth the wait, and there will be a special compensation for anyone who pre-ordered. I'm posting a complete list of content below, too, so you get a sense of what to expect. Oh, and check out the Charles Vess art on my blog (we've gathered so much amazing original art, fiction, poetry!)!
Also, Mermaids is totally different from Karen Kay's awesome Mermaids & Mythology, which I interviewed her about here: http://iamamermaid.com/2012/02/02/ka...ids-mythology/ (http://iamamermaid.com/2012/02/02/karen-kays-mermaids-mythology/). I know the titles are almost the same, but what can you do?
=)
Love
Carolyn
