Mermaid Jewel

On my steampunk tail thread, someone (I can't remember who) suggested making steampunk goggles as a way to not only use as an accessory but have a way of wearing goggles while swimming. I loved the idea so I started making some!
I took swim goggles we already had and took off the strap (it was easy, the way it was made). When I looked up instructions and examples, they all said to take off the rubber because they were not meant to be swum in so I had to abandon instructions and make my own. I just painted the edges with brown and metallic paint.

I'm going to attach elastic (either sponged with paint or pancaked) and some buttons and maybe seashells to the edges, but I'm not sure what else to do. I don't know what to put on the nose piece thing either, because I was originally going to attach a shell but it might kill the flexibility :/
