I get kinda excited when I make something new. I just HAD to share this one though...it's the first design I've done that had more than one piece of wire (normally I just twist the wire circle and add jewels). I was originally going to paint it silver but I like it green. Will be experimenting with rhinestones and glass beads tomorrow!

That's beautiful! Does it stay on well while you're swimming?

I'm not actually sure. I've never swum with it, though with some crossed bobby pins, I'm sure it'll stay.

Ooh, very lovely. :> What is it that colored it green?

The wire was wrapped in green floral tape. In fact, it keeps much of it together lol.

Here's another one I made today with glass beads. I was thinking about selling them but I can't ship them, cause the wire is still really easily malleable...

Another pic of the first one and a hair jewel strand thing...I got lazy and didn't finish stringing the beads on it cause all I had was glass beads and seed beads. I was testing to see if the hair thing worked before I went and bought beads for them :)

Thanks everyone :)

Here's another gypsy/pirate hair jewel thing I did and a better picture of the other one. I love these things! I wore them to the mall today :) The new one has a medallion at the bottom and wood & shell beads, so it's more of a beach-y, pirate-y one :D

I also found out, tying a little ponytail under the top layer of your hair then sticking the clip through that will keep it in place. I was throwing my head, running, and it didn't fall out. I wish I had black clips though, so when the hair moves the clip wouldn't be too obvious, but I can easily fix that later.

I love your headpieces! So elfin :) If you're worried about malleability, may I introduce my favorite source of cheap, sturdy wire... the coat hanger. Holds shape like a dream and then you could still wrap it for your signature look! I use coat hangers for circlets, fairy wings, maybe flukes in the future... It's my stand-by in case of lack of heavy craft wire haha.
