Hi :D I'm making a latex tail and I was wondering if this process could be used:
1.) Make a mold of legs
2.) Cast it
3.) Cover one cast with clay
4.) Carve scales and extra fins and fluke into the clay on the cast
5.) Make a box (with length and width of tail
7.) Put tail inside of it and fill it with a mold making material
8.) After the mold is done take the clay tail out
9.) Cut the tail mold in two and make another mold of legs
10.) fill half of the tail mold with latex or silicone and place leg mold inside
11.)Put other half of tail mold on (also filled with silicone or latex) Or Put the tail mold on and inject it with latex or silicone. :D So is that how it goes or... is it something else? Thank you for all your advice and help.
Just keep swimming and happy mer-maiding or mer-maning :D

If you do it like this you will be using alot of mold material. I would say that you cover it in plaster ( that stuf they use to set broken legs.) Look at the Asian tail maker topic to see what I mean, I think that will be easier.
