Hey! I was just thinking, I wonder if there are any other mermaids out there with little fishy friends. Mermaids and fish kinda go hand in hand, so I thought I'd start a post about pet fish. And then I thought, well... fish aren't the only sea animals, so I thought it could be a land/sea pet post! We should have a thread where people can post pictures/videos and stories about their mer-companions. (Even if, like my pug, they aren't as big a fan of water!)

When I lived with my parents we had a dog called Kira, she is a husky. And now I have a cat called mr Kat, though his real name is Nekoni, but he doesn't like that name.

I love all animals. I am currently staying with my parents who have a mini farm consisting of horses, goats, chickens, a number of dogs, and one cat. No fish or aqua life though. However in my childhood, we did have those dollar goldfish... that lasted a while actually. Other than that, I've had many pets while growing up. I have to say that my favorite domesticated animal is a goat. They all have their own personalities.

I don't currently have pets, but I did have both a freshwater and a saltwater aquarium... goldfish, chocolate chip stars, serpent stars, and a seahorse I called Nessie after the Loch Ness Monster. I also had three parakeets (Lilac, Lightning, and Macaw), and, at various times, hermit crabs, sea monkeys, painted lady butterflies, and luna moths.

Sheldon :D my adorable little southern painted turtle! He's about an inch and a half long. I go him from my boyfriend; he bought a little fish bowl, wrote "Prom?" on it and stuck him in there! He is such a cute little turtley guy! His favorite snack is feeder guppies. I also have a blue betta named marvin, a fancy rat named Toph, an English Springer Spaniel named Winston, and a black Lab named Kvichak.

I have a ridiculously destructive 20-lb orange tabby cat called Kitten (it got to be too much work yelling at him with his real name Tiburon so now he answers to Kitten). He loves anything paper (books, magazines, newspaper, mail, light cardboard, etc) and will rip it to shreds. He also likes to knock things over. I have to keep my apartment quite tidy because of him, but lately he's been going back and forth between my parent's and mine because he's such a handful.

I did have three Columbian red-tailed boas, but I had to give them up when my ex and I broke up/I moved out of his house as I couldn't find anywhere to move that would let me keep them. I miss them, but it was always hard trying to find someone to look after them when I went on vacation.

If I ever get settled in a place I'll be in for more than a couple of years, I plan to get seahorses. I love them so much, but it would be too much of a hassle to move (and I wouldn't want to endanger them).

With Huskies it's very important to show who is the boss in house. So, when your husband is gone, you must immediately take over his role. They say that huskies more then any dog have a strong pack feeling

I know :) she just senses I'm weak because of some medical issues I have, anyway on my good days I'm able to make sure she listens, so she's getting a lot better with me (though she does have the tendency to talk back, but she's just a brat :P).
