I figured it would be nice if we could all talk and be friendly and have conversations and what not with one another... But I have no idea where to start. So with the wonderfully generic and way to over used "How's the weather?" here in MI it's super hot with so much humidity that we are having power outages due to everyone blasting their A/C. Finally cooled down half way through last week but it's suppose to go back to it's 100 and some degree's starting tomorrow. >.<

Sirena, your power went out? O.o It's been super-hot and humid here, too, but so far, our power only went out once. Last week, I think.

Haven't had any power problems here just heat.

Lake Michigan is averaging about 73-74 degrees, with some of the warmest spots in the 80's. Just hope the green slime stays away from shore and my favorite divesites!

Yeah the whole city had a power outage! None of the intersection lights were working or anything, stayed like that for several hours.

The slime really is gross, I know I wish I could go swimming in the lake near my house but the water isn't clean enough to swim in :( I would love to see some of your dive sites though!

We have a few small lakes in Texas :) But yes, we are (esp. North Texas) the heart of the heat wave so we get the 106-108 O.e

Here's one of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP-xg7y3kJE

The green slime is a filimentry algae that coats the bottom. It moves with the currents, and washes up on the shores and stinks something nasty as it decays. It also contributes to some of the E. coli problems along the beaches, with seagull poop being the biggest. You'll see a little in the video.

It's so beautiful! I wish I could go the bottom of the lake where I live, there is an ancient wall that runs through the lake from before there was water :D I know what you mean about the E. Coli that's why I don't go swimming in our lake. Everyone who does gets ear infections and sick from the waste that was (I think might still be) dumped into it :(

Sunny over here in California :3 it's usually into the 100's, but it's been in the 80's and 90's lately.

The monsoons are up and rolling in the desert right now, and when they're done, i'll make my way around back to chilly lake Michigan. :3

Im in Minnesota, right on the tip of Lake Superior. Its been very sunny and warm here, averaging 80-90 degrees, humid up on the hill where I live, but go down by the lake and the weather is wonderful. the lake is really warm this time of the year, I've been swimming quite a few times. Right now its raining though, we've been having flash floods from a few major thunderstorms. I know it'll get sunny pretty quick though, so no worries here :)

Chicago is being weird, but it's always like that. One day hot, the next day freezing, the next day perfect, the next day freezing, the next day hot, etc. etc.

I don't mean to change the subject so abruptly, but has any read the book Lost Voices or is planning on reading it?

Florida has been SO wonderful with all the rain! We honestly haven't had a good rainy summer in two years maybe three? It's awesome to have storm roll in every afternoon. And it's nice at the waterpark I work at since that means I get to go home early xD

Puerto Rico is hot and steamy as always, its about 103 almost everyday so everyone hightails it up to the rainforests to swim in the cool rivers.

Virginia has been cold and windy the past couple days. The water at the beach is super choppy. Fun to swim in, but terrible to be on a boat in!

hot and dry... I mowed my lawn yesterday and the whole time I was in a cloud of dirt. Not fun.
