Mermaid Assana

First off, name is Amanda, mermaid name Assana (My mermaid name is Irish for waterfall, I'm part Irish, and they both start with A's so I thought it was a good fit :p) Up until now, I've just been lurking through the forums, but I've decided to come out of my clam shell and join my fellow mers. I'm 22 years old and my birthday lands me at being Pisces, which I am pretty much a poster-child for. In fact I even have a tattoo on my arm dedicated to being a Pisces (which I can share a pic of if anyone is interested).
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been fascinated by mermaids. In swimming pools, I would frequently hold my legs together and swim as much like a mermaid as I possibly could (and I'm sure many of you have done the same). The ocean has always been one of my favorite things, along with the exotic and beautiful marine life that resides within it. It always seems that I feel most comfortable when in the water, as if the beautiful, underwater environment was meant for me. Unfortunately though, I live in Arizona where water is scarce and closest thing we have is either a chlorinated pool or the few scattered polluted man-made lakes...
Sadly, I don't currently own a tail, but will be ordering one soon next month around the time school starts (I'll be using my left over financial aid money ;) ). My boyfriend is an aspiring photographer and he will be doing a photoshoot with me. Then maybe I can have some photos to post up :D
Anyways, I'm happy to have found such an amazing community with so many beautiful people, and I'm hoping that this lone mermaid may be graciously welcomed into this lovely international pod :)
