Disney changing toy designs?

Okay..so besides mermaiding.. I have another hobby. Collecting stuff from movies that I absolutely love. Such as The Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Spirited Away, Transformers, Harry Potter, The Little Mermaid, Brave, Tangled, Lord of the Rings etc.

So... Yeah LOL. I was looking at stuff from the Disney store today after seeing the movie Brave, which I really enjoyed. Anyway, I decided to look at other stuff too, then I noticed how ALL the Disney dolls started looking like crap. :/

I don't know what the heck Disney is thinking? The other doll obviously was more accurate and a better seller. But its not just the Rapunzel doll, but the other dolls as well. When comparing anything to the Monster High dolls......all other dolls fail in comparison in design, articulation, and just being awesome.

God I love the Monster High dolls. I have the basic Frankie and Draculara (The ones that have pets) and I have the Skull Shores Abbey. I want to get Lagoona so bad!

It's not just with the dolls apparently. Where I live we have a little Disney Store shop, I go there once in a while to see what they got, but I have noticed that the statues of the latest movies are not as good as the earlier ones. It's like they don't take enough time to finish the products

I was wondering a similar thing. I assumed that disney simultaneously markets alternate versions of essentially the same product to cater to people who want to spend more or less money. Don't they sell a zillion different dolls for all the disney princesses?

The same is with there plushies. I have an official Disney Flounder plushie (life-size) that I bought a few years ago when I was in London. When the official Disney-store here in Antwerp opened I went to see the store. They had a new set of plushies, including Flounder and Sebastian, but there colors are really faded and they are a lot smaller to although they girls that work at the shop told me they are life-sized. :(

Yeah I think there are waves of them. The more detailed limited edition ones, that the collectors snap up, then the less detailed ones for 'playing' with for younger children.

Huh, I haven't seen a Rapunzel doll that looks like that. I do see a lot of really cute ones with bigger eyes when I occasionally look at toys in a store though.

It wasn't a collectors edition, it was the regular doll. The collectors edition is around $200 and is very detailed and elegant. I heard that the doll's hair would get tangled (no pun intended) and it would often fall out, but thats to be expected of any doll that a little kid would play with. And if it was an issue, they should have just fixed the hair problem instead of changing the whole thing. The new one doesn't even come with Pascal or the crown. :/ </3

And the price stayed the same, but they just changed the look. Its really upsetting in my opinion. >.< I hope they bring back the old designs. The princess's don't look like how they do in the movies anymore :<

Lol! Yeah. Though it doesn't make sense as to why they changed ALL the princess doll designs. :/ It baffles me to be honest. They made so many more sales with the old designs because the face and outfits were really accurate. Im not sure if Disney signed off the designs to someone else or what. I have been trying to figure it out. But on the bright side, the Brave toys,collectors items etc look great. xD

Monster High dolls are awesome. xD But i love them and the disney ones equally the same. They are both original and interesting. Cept.. Not so much anymore with disney. =__= </3
