Hi I'm the Mermaid Lyna!

Hi! I'm the Mermaid Lyna! I know none of you have heard of me...because I am not a professional mermaid..nor am I aspiring to be one...I do this because it is who I am. I have thought of myself as a mermaid for as long as I can remember, back from the days in elementary school rushing home to get in the pool and swimming with my legs together, doing flips, and kicking my feet heels together toes out up out of the water like it was a fluke. Everyone thought I was so weird, but I didn't care. :)
Well I have been watching the Mertailor since 2006...and I FINALLY caved after the price dropped dramatically and bought myself my first latex tail! It's been 4 months in production so far...and weeks behind schedule..so I'm getting beyond antsy and impatient. In the meantime...my photograohers are on hold for 2 seperate photoshoots I had booked with it. And i made my first mermaid top and belt for the occassion. I've also ordered 2 more shipments of things to make an additional 2 tops...and now the husband thinks I should start selling them to other mermaids...but IDK about all that... (full time mom of 2 and tattoo artist running my own business here...doesn't leave an epic amount of time for extra curriculars...but if I get a request from one of you, I'm sure I'd comply happily).
I've also teamed up with another tail designer to create a very custom silicone tail and am in the process of saving up for that.
I am an avid Renn Fairie...I will be at 2 this year in my tail...Sterling in New York and TRF in Texas. :) If you see me there....please please feel free to introduce yourself!!
I found this page through Mermaid Raina who I found by seeing an interview someone had with her and explaining that she was bringing together a community, and you have no idea how excited I was to hear that. I love Ren Faires, too! I've never been to one in a tail, though...I have garb I just love. <3

My husband has been acquiring the most awesome pirate outfit....last year for our anniversary I bought him a gorgeous rapier sword so when we go out and about, he can dress as a pirate and carry me around as a mermaid. It keeps everything real for the kids and fun for the adults. Our renn faire just started so we will be going soon. And pirate days is a full week of craziness and bars next to bars next to clubs with a full pirate invasion of the town and ship battles...so he'll be hauling me door to door for that and I'll probably get flopped up on the dj booth where I used to cage dance. :)

Lyna, I'm working on a story with a main character who is a tattoo artist (and a chimera). Would you mind if I interviewed you for ideas on what a tattoo artist who owns her own business is like and how the character would act/talk? At your leisure, of course... no rush. I have a couple other stories I'm also working on, and you're clearly busy yourself, but it would be a huge help.

Thanks Raina! You are so so so gorgeous by the way! I am so glad there are mermaids out there like you that actually live the lifestyle AND are willing to take time out of your day to chat with the rest of us!!! I have been chatting for several weeks va email with the MermanJesse and he is a doll. I alo was reffered to Medusirena by a mutual friend of ours...but she is quite busy. I've always been solo in my mermaid quests so you don't know how much it means to me to have this community!!!!
And to Bellasea: I am on the East shore of Lake Ontario near the Canadian border. Originally from California, I have been here going on 7 years now, but am moving to Texas this fall where I will be between Fort Hood and Houston. :)
