Wave Monofin + Old Plastic Binder + Duct Tape =

These are the supplies I used to make my new/old monofin!!! I'm so happy with how it turned out!:lol::lol::lol: My friend has a tail from Magic Tail so I traced her monofin and added the missing pieces useing a plastic covered binder and MANY layers of duct tape. I really like the "V" shape, and was going to purchase the very expensive (to a teen) Oceanika mer-fin till God lead me to this idea! It worked amazingly and stands up on it's own (as in the end doesn't flop around when you are lifting the fluke up). So now I can take pictures with out being a floppy mess! :) I am still going to add more tape to cover some stress points, but in all, I AM SO HAPPY!

Yes! I'm not the only one who usd duct tape to fix/modify a monofin. :D How does it hold up in the water? Is the tape comming off the monofin?

It holds up really well actually! I did every twist/turn I could think to do with it and it still is standing strong! The tape on the monofin peels a little, but nothing more tape can't fix!

But if you cut a rapid or a wave monofin to the shape of a of a tail without adding anything will it hurt the performance or will it increase it?

I ended up cutting my Wave as well - personally I thought it lost a little power, but not enough to really stress about.
