I about peed my pants as a kid when I saw this movie was coming to TV in the listings... I had just watched SPLASH and said to myself: man, I wish they would make a sequel, and suddenly THERE IT WAS! Of course, I was a bit let down cause it was a little more "disney-fied" than the first one, but hey-- I was hungry for anything mermaid!

I loved the first Splash movie, but I love the sequel more because it has dolphins on it. And I love Amy Yasbeck as well.
I know many people are not keen on this movie, but I still search around for it just in case it has been released in DVD and I have not heard...

When I was young there was a video rental shop just by my apartment building, and I found out about the movie because the manager put up a poster of it on the wall. I rented it so many times she gifted me the poster when she took it off.

Although, on the subject of the quality of Splash Too I'd just like to point out how amazing it is that they didn't get a single actor from the first movie to return, considering Eugene Levy's official position on cash in sequels:

I have to say that i really did not enjoy the Splash sequel. Because of the fact that Disney took it over it just wasn't as fun. The tail also wasn't to great looking, along with the actors. Just my opinion though

Actually "Touchstone" is a Disney company. It was developed specifically for the release of the first Splash movie.

It was originally made for "The Wonderful World of Disney", which was a 2-hour program on Sunday nights that aired all sorts of made-for-TV movies that Disney made (one I always remember was called "Time Flyer", which was about a boy who went back in time to meet his grandfather before he died trying to fly across the Atlantic before Lindburg did.) I remember being about 7 or 8 when Splash Too aired, but I missed it when it did because I wasn't allowed to watch a lot of TV. Then, for years I dreamed of seeing it, and even bought a copy off Ebay years ago only to find out it was PAL format and not NTSC (wrong region). I finally watched it on YouTube a few years back and all that waiting and dreaming kinda fell flat. I loved Amy as Madison (even though I heard she is scared to DEATH of dolphins! LOL), but the rest of the casting was a bit lacking, and I thought the story was REALLY stupid... They never even touched on the whole "You can never go back" line from the first, and the swimming to the underwater city during the credits I REALLY wanted to see! Somehow, they were just hanging out on a deserted island when the movie started...
