Hello North Pacific Mers,

I am planning a roadtrip down to Seattle with Alexi and Oceana on July 28th to meet some mers! We are hoping to visit a beach at Lake Washington if it's nice out, and if it turns cruddy we'll find an indoor pool somewhere.

I'm assuming that we'll arrive around noon, have some lunch and break the ice, pop on the tails for swims and sunning; when we're tuckered out from that we can grab a bite somewhere close by to hang out more before I bring the Canadian Posse home.

I was thinking that Mt. Baker beach should be close to where Iona's ferry arrives, so that would be a nice area to try swimming. Plus, there is a fishing pier nearby that we could potentially frolic near (unless they're fishing for mermaid...eek!)

I know not everyone can make that date, but with the summer booking up fast it seemed the only date the Canadian group of us could make it down.

What do we think?

Unfortunately even if I had my tail by then I would still miss it. I'm going to be at a bridal shower for my best friend.

Is the the same thing that was being discussed in the facebook group? You might want to post a link to that.

@Raayvhen - I know...which sucks! The only other day we might all be able to come down would be August 11 or 12...if that works better for you?

@Malinghi - Ack! I'll get this linked after I get home from work :)

I'm bumping this up because the swimming meetup is next Saturday, July 28th!

Since Oceana has an event that night, the Canadian Posse will have to leave by 3 pm. I'm hoping that we can re-arrange the meet time to 11 am? To give us more time to visit and picnic?

The plan is to meet at Mt. Baker Beach if it is nice out. If it's soggy and gross I'd say let's try Evans Pool, which is nearby.

I don't have a large rollcall for this meetup; can I get some confirms on here? So far we have?

Actually noon was already a huge stretch for me time wise. I try and work with people time wise because I know my sleep schedules are far from normal (I have delayed phase sleep disorder aka perpetual night owl and narcolepsy). But the truth is that I'm going to be really pushing myself as is, earlier may be car crash danger territory- even just driving from Silverdale to the ferry.

3 hours isn't long - not sure I'd be worth the drive for you guys (though I don't know how long it takes you). Since she has an event Saturday night maybe having the meet up Friday or Sunday would be better. How is that for your guy's schedules?

Alexis, Oceana and I are doing some photos on Sunday and I have an afternoon event and Friday I am at work (can't take any more time off!)

Noon still works - maybe it means that the girls and myself come down earlier and wander PPM for a bit (scope out locations before the Aquarium meet) before meeting you at the Beach :)

We need to change the time for Iona - we are meeting at Mt Baker Beach at 12 pm!

Iona - is Mt Baker and okay beach for you to get to? Close to the ferry?

Yeah, that'll work! I can grab a taxi, it looks like it's only about 4 miles away from the ferry terminal.

The weather is supposed to be nice; about 71. I'm still unsure if I can make it.

We will have to do this again soon! I am so sorry - we have very little in the way of pictures due to lack of a mertender...we were all in the water! Nobody could work the camera LOL

I dunno about anyone else, but I had a complete blast. I loved swimming in the lake. Much more fun than a pool but much more cold!
