Hmmm, what to say here. I guess, "Hello everyone" works! My name Michi and I've been a mer since I can remember - Always drawn to the water, never wanting to leave. I'm a seamstress/designer and aspiring author, and I live in Orlando, FL.
I made my first tail when I was 9 or thereabouts out of a pair of knit pants with a crazy flower print on them LOL. I didn't know how to make the fluke, so it ended up being some leftover sheer material my mother had laying around. Needless to say, it didn't last.
Next, I had Mom make me one out of spandex when I was in 8th Grade. She thought I was too "old" for a costume, and protested, but made it for me anyway. The fluke on that one wasn't any better, and I eventually switched it out for a larger one held in shape with a piece of basket reed (which, of course, didn't work either).
After I somehow lost that tail when I came back from a vacation, I haven't had an actual tail for years. Mostly because I'm really picky and only slightly because I'm not pleased with my body shape. However, I'm making one now! ^_^
Currently I'm writing my second novel (Paranormal Romance), and have been making notes for years on a whole Mer series within the same world as my first books. Actually, I introduced one of my main Mer characters in the first book as a little cameo. He'll be a major player later on.
I think I wrote too much... Sorry about that! ^_^
