The main problem with most sequined fabric is that it is either lightweight, or mesh and therefore un-usable for a swimmable tail. I have also twice bought fabric online only to have it arrive far too lightweight and fragile for use.
The scallop construction on this bag would negate that. Plus allow for different colours/more individuality per tail.
The idea is, you take the Scallops pattern from here, create the scallops, sew it to your (unsewn) top and bottom mermaid tail pieces and then sew together as described in the bag Tutorial.
I currently dont have time/money/fabric to try this awesome idea out.
I would love it if SomeMer out there made a tail. (or even just a pool bag) using this pattern and posted pics here to share.
