Over the past few weeks I have been going to a local beach an I sort of got myself a reputation for swimming at that beach . An I do not have a mer name yet and also I am having trouble figuring one out for myself. I would like you input and try to help me figure a name for myself. My real name is Anthony Charles Vallee. Any help would be greatful.

Helios (Titan of the sun)
Eos (Titan of the dawn)
Hyperion (Titan of light)
Clymene (Titan of fame: you're famous for being at that beach! This one's just a joke)

My brother went looking in google translate and tried changing words into Latin and other old languages. I think he ended up with Nix (which is German for merman) but you get the idea. You could enter in any ocean themed word and have some fun playing around with it.
Mermaid Abby has some good ones!
Oh and find a name that sounds close to your real name, or something you feel comfortable calling yourself! :D Goodluck!

I see from your "About me" section that you like the Princess Bride... maybe INDIGO Montoya (instead of Inigo)?

Interseting. I'll have to give these names a thought. You guys have provided me with so many. An Abby for where I swim nobody has seen what I do and alot have not ever heard of swimming in a tail. Every time I go there I keep getting questions about my tail and where I got it from, is it easy to swim with an so on. You see I live in Amsterdam, NY and this is something new to everybody around here. Some think it's weird and others think it's cool, but as for me I love it, an I wouldn't change a thing. Here is a picture of yesterday at the beach.4995

You can take the letters form your hole name, throw some away, take some new to have an original and unique name ! It's what I did for me : Claire became Lira !

No they don't know me I just started swimming there this year. For I never knew that we could swim there for there are no lifeguards and owned by the D.E.C. so it is swim at own risk.

I just googled greek mythology names and found a list, that's where all of the first ones are from, and I Google-translated the last three to Latin

Another idea might be to look up your favorite culture (or names from your heritage) that have to do with water, check up local legends and folklore related to water, read through the water entry in wikipedia and maybe use or alter some of the words there that are water-related, and check names for different shades of blue or green (or your favorite color) either in wikipedia or on those paint tabs in home building stores.
