Bellydancing is a lot of fun... though it's also a major workout... I am usually gasping and sweat-soaked by the end of it. I've only just begun doing it, though.

I used to do it a few years ago, when I traveled through Singapore and met a Turkish woman who taught it. I'm still good friends with her and she used to take me to her other classes (where she taught) and said I was like her daughter :| I don't think I had any talent for it though.

I hear that. Life has gotten in the way of me taking lessons for over 6 years. Money or health problems seem to be in the way if everything else clears up :/ BUT I am starting classes for belly dancing this coming Monday! SO EXCITED! I'd LOVE to be able to learn step dancing one day :)

I love to dance, and really want to learn belly dancing, but the lessons here are quite expensive. :(

I am lucky in that my troupe leader charges me in dolls. :) After the first one I made her ( http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/167033_749627757998_2040377_n.jpg ) she said I didn't ever have to pay her again in anything, but I felt bad so I made her a second one. There are some great dvds out there to help you learn and, depending on your style, they are not too hard to find nor are they all that expensive.

Wish I could do the same here, but as everything has to be on paper, no free lessons for me :(

They offer them at my local community house and the price is very reasonable :) It's so much fun

Here in antwerp (Belgium) most classes are very expensive, unless you are a child (until 12 years old) you could follow cheaper lessons at 'kindervreugd'.

I took classes for a few months but mostly I just do it by myself at home now. I've been dancing since last September.
