I recently started hoop dancing and I'm working on the basics before I actually start tackling difficult tricks.

I've been using the videos on this site and they're amazing. http://www.homeofpoi.com/lessons_all/teach/Library-Hoop-Hula-Hoop-15_75_0

I love hooping! I only have a weighted hoop at the moment and I have never tried it artistically. I will check out the link you gave, it sounds so fun, I would love to try it!

So I'd never used grip tape before simply because I didn't ever get around to ordering it, but today I was at Lowe's picking up another coupling and some electrical tape for a new hoop and I found the Duck Tape brand grip tape and it was only a few bucks so I decided to grab it. I cannot believe the difference it made! I've never been able to chest hoop even though I can do the motion needed and as soon as I hooped with the tape I was able to chest hoop without any effort.

I hoop! I've been learning from fellow performers in my area for the last several months (ended up having to take a few off so I'm just now getting back into it) my goal is to work up to fire hoop & perform it while in tail & to also learn sky hoop.

Let me know when you are around and we can meet up for a little hoop lesson. I love to share. I might go to TRF. I get free tickets from a girlfriend who does Henna out there. I should go. I haven't been since I was a kid. Are you going?

That video is awesome. We have a pretty good size hooping community here as well as Poi and Fire. I can hoop...but very beginner. Its alot of fun, there is a weekly hoop jam along with the Drum Circle every week during the Summer. Lots of fun.
