Hello fellow Merfolk!
I have been member at yuku but I think I deleted my account a while before it was gone. I am glad to make it back to a new community so full of loveliness!
My name is Karime and for my mer name I've added a few extra letters, so it is "Karimermaid" and sometimes "Karymermaid"
I have always been fascinated by the mythology of the Merfolk. My mother has always been an avid reader and she read to me many mer tales since I was a teeny baby. :)
As a child, I was always in the water, always swimming like a mermaid. Posing on rocks, waving from the waves. This is something that still, at 31 years of age brings me joy.
Another reason I love the "idea" of the mermaid, is that we can present ourselves as defenders of the sea, of the creatures that live in our ocean(s). My ultimate vision, as a mermaid, is to learn, then spread the word, educate myself and others about what we can do do protect the health of the Sea. Our planet is a Waterworld, as strange as it may seem, we (most people) seem to forget!
Mermaids live in the depths, as I tend to live my life. I strive for wisdom and inspiration not just knowledge.
Sadly, I do not have a tail. I have tried to save money for one, but my living expenses hasn't allowed any room for it. I do however carry myself with the joyful wonder and respect I know a mermaid does. I hope I can make my dream come true one day and swim in a lovely tail.
I come here, presenting myself as I do to the sea, with humbleness, with an open heart and mind. I look forward to meeting you ALL.
