Hey guys! I thought that because i'm new to Mernetwork I should introduce myself! So, here we go...
My mermaid name is Kalani, because i'm wanting to keep my professional mermaid career separated from my regular life.
I got into real mermaiding a year ago when i decided to slip both my legs into a pair of tights and slap on a couple of flippers. I thought it was the coolest feeling in the world and you couldn't get me out of that pool for anything! I swam like that for a while until I decided to take it a step further and sew some old fabrics onto the two flippers that I had then tied together. It looked awesome! I wish I would have taken the time to take pictures-Oh, silly me lol:rolleyes:. By then, people were calling me obsessed! I was overjoyed when I realized that there were other people who cosidered themselves mers! When my birthday rolled around I decided to spill the beans to my parents about the whole mermaid situation and asked for a tail from magictail.de. To my intense surprise, they said yes! My life revolved around that tail for a while and then I decided i needed something new...
I now make my own tails ranging from neoprene to swim fabrics to old bedsheets lol! I plan on taking my mermaiding to a professional level when i get a bit older. I have a best friend who is also a mermaid who is always encouraging me and I am grateful for that. I am not a mermaid because it it has become a trend:mad:. I do it because of my intense love for the ocean, animals, children, and the art and beauty. I do hope that this trend passes so we can get out of this big old flop about people who call themselves mermaids but really aren't coming from the heart, and how we are so called 'immature' 'childish' and that we need to 'grow up'. Grrr, that really gets on my nerves when people just don't know how to dream :( But you can count on me to stay until the end and keep loyal to the mermaid community! :)
Some other facts about me and my mermaidyness:
I can hold but breath for 1:06 minutes when still and about forty seconds when swimming around.
I currently own 5 different tails (2 neoprene, 1 Magictail, 2 Swimfabric)
I can blow bubble rings and bubble kisses
My biggest inspirations are Raina, Raven, and Hannah Mermaid, but mainly Raina! <3
