Introducing... Mermaid Ama

I want to introduce you all to my youngest sister... Mermaid Ama! She has yet to join mernetwork, I am not sure if she will... but I wanted to document and share her progress with you :)

The name "Ama" was chosen because it's similar to her real name, and it is one of the words for water in Cherokee. We thought it was a neat idea. Im Raina (rain) and She's Ama! (water):)

We're saving up to get her a tail, for now she's going to swim with me in my mermaid creations tail! She's excited to get her own tail though, and is hoping for a purple one :)

She spent the evening with me- some of you may know I've been on "bed rest" for a few days since getting out of the hospital. I was going stir crazy so I did her up in the accessories I made for her and did some photos of her! Next weekend we're travelling to another province to get some photos together.

Ama had her first photoshoot this weekend. Unfortunately we didn't have a realistic tail like she hoped- so we got my old stretch vinyl tail! The only problem was- the person I lent it to lost the swim fins :( we couldnt get a monofin or good swim fins on such short notice, we had crappy small ones. So no swimming for now... and they didnt fill up the fluke very well. But she made the most of it and looked great!

My baby sister is 14, she loves to swim in my monofin and does it so much better than I. She just saw these pictures and said, "It's like you and me!" Yay for sisters! I have no idea if she'll want to do it when she's a bit older, but for now it's nice to dream that someday we may be a sister duo like you and Ama! <3 I love Ama's smile, she seems so happy!

Mermaid Ama did the polar bear dip again this year. Before you ask, no we can't do it in tails. You need to be able to climb a metal ladder to get out.
